On January 28, 2012, St. Luke’s Hospital will present ‘A Night on Broadway’ at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis benefiting the Albert Pujols Wellness Center for Adults with Down Syndrome. St. Luke’s is honored to have Albert and Deidre chairing the event.

From a themed pre-show cocktail party and a performance by Tony Award-winning star Patti LuPone, to a private dessert reception, the evening will be unforgettable.

A few years ago, St. Luke’s Hospital identified a lack of available wellness services in the St. Louis area for individuals with Down syndrome, particularly the specialized medical care and resources they need as they grow into adulthood. Albert Pujols designated an award from the Major League Baseball Players Trust to help St. Luke’s open The Albert Pujols Wellness Center for Adults with Down Syndrome at St. Luke’s Hospital – the first of its kind in the area. Albert and Deidre have continued to support it.

Today, the Center offers patients a team of dedicated specialists trained to address the unique wellness needs of adults with Down syndrome. Patients benefit from a comprehensive medical exam, as well as an assessment with the Center’s social worker and dietitian. Many participate in health, wellness and social/emotional programs including nutrition coaching, exercise therapy and social services.
