SUMMARY:Relay and Run for 21
DESCRIPTION:The second annual Relay and Run for 21 benefits individuals with Down Syndrome who face challenges every day. Face your own challenge on March 24\, 2013 as you and/or your 3-person relay team compete in a half marathon. The 13.1 mile race crosses beautiful St. Louis County from Clayton to Westport. \nAll runners receive a technical t-shirt. Solo finishers receive a custom made medal. Food and drinks will be provided at the finish area. For more information and to register please visit www.runfor21k.com \nThe race starts at 7:30am in downtown Clayton and ambles across St. Louis County\, passing through University City\, Olivette\, Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights. The race follows quiet neighborhood streets\, major roadways you would not normally run along\, and a few trails that many don’t know exist. The finish line is located on the west side of Westport Plaza. Whether running as an individual or 3-person relay team\, the course is somewhat challenging and ever changing along its path. Eight Aid Stations will be located along the course. Shuttle buses will continually run from the start line\, to each of the 2 relay stations\, the finish line and then return again to the start area. \nThe relay is comprised of three segments varying in length and difficulty with the shortest segment of 4.1 miles and the longest at 4.65 miles. The relay can be run by two or three teammates. Relay teammates may run the final ~150 meters of the race with their final runner and finish as a team. \nThe Relay and Run for 21 helps to raise money for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis\, the Pujols Family Foundation and D.A.D.S. Community Outreach Fund. \nContact:\nJeff Marvin\nRace Director\nFiredog5@sbcglobal.net\n6205 Tholozan Ave\nSt. Louis\, MO 63109
