Mothers and daughters had a ball at our second annual Mother Daughter Pajama Party on May 5 at Living World United Methodist Church in Wildwood, Missouri.

It was a magical evening filled with singing and dancing, crafting and eating all the junk food that your heart desires; all while watching Beauty and the Beast on a big screen in your favorite PJs, surrounded by your best friends.

Upon entering, moms and daughters were greeted by our wonderful volunteers, along with Belle and the Beast. There were stations along the walls to make keepsake boxes and picture frames, and decorate them with glittery stickers, markers and paint. A popcorn station and Cold Stone Creamery ice cream in the back of the room featured a variety of sweet chocolate candy mix-ins. Everyone was given the princess treatment– all had the opportunity to get their hair and makeup done with the most popular hair style of the evening being a fancy topknot like Belle.

In the adjoining room, nachos, Papa John’s pizza and soda were being served where friends could sit, enjoy the delicious food and talk about who their favorite princesses are. Stations for cookie decorating and making cereal necklaces gave girls the opportunity to eat their masterpieces. Moms and daughters watched in awe while the balloon artist (from Way Cool Balloons) created his own masterpieces. He carefully created everything from an enchanted rose in a glass dome, to wearable, colorful butterfly wings with an antennae headband, to a magical light up snow globe.

The night was complete with a photo booth for mothers and daughters to take pictures with Belle and the Beast while using tiaras, masquerade masks, feather boas and flower props.

After a night filled with laughter, singing, and dancing, it is safe to say that the second annual Mother Daughter Pajama Party was a hit! When the time came to go home, no one was quite ready to leave. From age 1-100, there was something for every girl and mom to enjoy.
