Baseball takes part in special night with Pujols Foundation
November 30, 2013
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Live music, a red carpet and limousines were all part of an event that a select group of Lipscomb baseball team members participated in earlier this month. No, they were not strutting their stuff at the CMA Awards at Bridgestone Arena, they were special guests at the Annual Albert Pujols Family Foundation Autumn Prom.
The event held at Gaylord Opryland was a special night for the foundation that benefits those with Down syndrome.
“The Lipscomb guys were so gracious,” said Carolyn Naifeh, regional director of the Pujols Family Foundation. “They were helping people out of their cars at the beginning and then they were on the red carpet hooping and hollering and welcoming people.”
The Bisons also had the privilege to walk several of the evening’s special guests down the red carpet to the event.
“Those girls were so proud to be on the arms of those good looking boys,” laughed Naifeh. “The joy and the pride were palpable. You could just touch it.”
Jonathan Allison, Tyson Ashcraft, Hunter Brothers, Adam and Josh Lee and Griffin Moore also spent part of their night on the dance floor as the live band belted out some tunes.
“The Lipscomb guys danced the whole night,” said Naifeh. “They made sure there weren’t any wallflowers and that everyone felt valuable and welcome. They really made the evening special for so many of the guests.”
