Bowl Me Over: Mother/Daughter Bowling
May 18, 2014
On Sunday, May 18, 2014, the Pujols Family Foundation and Brunswick Zone in Chesterfield hosted the annual Hitters and Splitters Mother/Daughter Bowling Event. The event was a tremendous success, as usual. This special event not only offered time for mothers and daughters to spend together but also allowed friendships to form and a community to come together in support of one another. Fun and excitement spilled into the bowling alley as the Hitters and Splitters event took off.
After signing in, participants made their way to the bowling lanes where they had time to pick up their bowling shoes, balls, and also meet the other Mother/Daughter bowlers. After getting settled into their lanes, the games were underway and the families started migrating toward the delicious food that was generously donated by the participating companies. Participants of this event enjoyed Papa John’s pizza, Coldstone Creamery ice cream, McAlister’s Deli cookies, and Raising Cane’s chicken fingers and french fries.
Bowling was just one of the many amazing highlights of the evening at the Hitters and Splitters Mother/Daughter Bowling event. The continuous line coming from the Way Cool Balloons booth was proof that this special event had much more to offer than just bowling. Way Cool Balloon’s incredible creations ranged from monkeys in treetops to fully wearable butterfly costumes that fascinated and impressed us and our guests!
If you were not bowling or getting a Way Cool Balloon, you were most likely with the ladies from the Julius Monroe Salon and Spa at the ‘Glam Station’. The Glam Station offered services such as make-up, hair braids, and airbrush body paint. Guests enjoyed this one-on-one pampered VIP treatment from these very talented group of ladies. Attendees also spent time making memories to remember at Grayward Entertainment’s photo booth, where guests lined up to have their pictures taken with all of the fun accessories.
The energy and excitement was contagious throughout the evening; no one left disappointed, especially when the gift bags were handed out. To top off the event, guests received an awesome gift bag that contained an Albert Pujols bobblehead, an Albert Pujols figurine, a Kid’s Chat God’s Spirit book, and a red Pujols Gamewear leather baseball bracelet. There were a variety of gift cards donated by Stir Crazy, McAlister’s Deli, Chipotle, and summer bowling passes from Brunswick Zone. Not to mention the tote bag itself was a very nice gift that shared our mission statement.
Everyone agreed that the Hitters and Splitters event was a tremendous success. This event provided families with a wonderful opportunity to connect, share stories, and form friendships. Toward the end of the event, it was clear just how important the Hitters and Splitters event was to everyone who participated and we look forward to next year’s event being just as successful if not more.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Brunswick Zone in Chesterfield for hosting this wonderful event. We would also like to thank the following people for their donations and assistance that made this event success: Papa John’s Pizza, McAlister’s Deli, Cold Stone Creamery, Raising Cane’s, Grayward Entertainment, Way Cool Balloons, Images by Lori, Julius Monroe Salon, Gamewear, Stir Crazy, Chipotle, St. Louis Cardinals, Appreciate the World, Mercy Ministries, and all of our wonderful volunteers!
