Pins for the Pujols Family Foundation
May 1, 2014
The Pujols Family Foundation’s programs and events fall into three functional areas: Down syndrome, Dominican Republic, and Awareness & Education. The Foundation’s fundraising events help further serve the St. Louis community and beyond by providing the resources needed to develop new programs and services.
On Thursday, May 1, 2014 the Pujols Family Foundation hosted the Pins for Pujols Family Foundation Bowling Event raising approximately $4,400. Through the game of bowling, this new event was focused on promoting awareness and education about the mission of the Pujols Family Foundation by bringing together ‘young’ professionals and leaders in our community with the people the Foundation serves.
Event participants enjoyed three hours of unlimited bowling, shoe rental, food & beverages, as well as fun community networking. This event served as a great opportunity to combine team building and community service. A diverse group of the Foundation’s corporate and individual sponsors, families of the Down syndrome community, and members of the Special Olympics bowling team came together to participate and share in this experience.
A prize of two tickets to a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball game was awarded to the best individual bowling score. The ‘Lane Attendance Prize’ was awarded one free burrito, burrito bowl or order of tacos, per lane participant, compliments of Chipotle.
All guests were able to participate in a raffle for five Green Seats to a St. Louis Cardinals Game. The raffle was a tremendous success and raised over $700 for the Foundation.
Participants of this event contributed to supporting the multitude of programs that serve individuals with Down syndrome, as well as the humanitarian efforts offered to the impoverished people of the Dominican Republic.
Thank you to the Brunswick Zone in St. Louis for hosting this exciting new event. We would also like to thank our corporate and individual sponsors, our participants with Down syndrome and their families, in addition to the members of the Special Olympics bowling team.
